How We Are Organized
We are a club at San Ramon Valley High School and a member of the NorCal High School Cycling League. NorCal operates under the governance of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). NorCal sponsors races in Northern California, while NICA provides leadership and general liability insurance.
The high school club supports off-the-bike activities on campus.
On-the-bike and off-campus activities are managed by the San Ramon Valley Mountain Bike Club, a 501c(3) non-profit corporation.

Head Coach Ken Mozek started the club in 2008. Coach Ken, a long time cyclist, has always had a passion for mentoring youth, and the chance to mentor high school students through mountain biking was irresistible. With 5 boys and 6 girls in the club and a few parent coaches, they trained and competed in the NorCal High School MTB League. The club has grown since then to over 60 riders, one of the largest teams in the NorCal League.
National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA)
NICA is the parent organization of the NorCal League (). Formed in 2009, their mission is to "build strong minds, bodies, character, and communities through cycling," while valuing equality, inclusivity, strong mind, strong body, and strong character. They are headquartered in Berkeley, CA and manage high school MTB leagues across the country.
The NorCal High School Cycling League was organized in 2001 to provide quality mountain biking programs for students in grades 9 to 12. The League hosts over 70 high school teams throughout Northern California. The League is committed to providing a positive experience for all student-athletes regardless of ability level and helping them to create a strong body, mind, and character through the sport of cycling.
